Minor Requirements

The requirements for the minor are as follows:

Music Theory

Two courses:

• MUSI 203 - Harmony I
• MUSI 204 - Harmony II

Music History

Two courses:

• MUSI 215 - Music History I: Medieval through Baroque Periods
• MUSI 216 - Music History II: Classic through Modern Periods

One of the Following

• MUSI 221 - World Music
• MUSI 111 - History of Rock
• MUSI 161 - History of Jazz

Elective

• One elective course above the 100 level, excluding performance courses. However, MUSI 208 - Jazz Theory and Improvisation may serve as an elective.

Performance Ensemble

All music minors must participate in one of the following performance ensembles beginning the semester following declaration of the concentration through graduation: º£½ÇÉçÇø Chamber Players, º£½ÇÉçÇø Choirs, º£½ÇÉçÇø Jazz Ensemble, º£½ÇÉçÇø Orchestra. A minimum of four semesters is required, no exceptions for off-campus study.
