Major Requirements

The requirements for the major are as follows:

All of the Following

• Two 100-level courses chosen from among GEOG 105, 107, 108, and 122
• GEOG 231 - Geography of the Physical Environment
• GEOG 245 - Geographic Information Systems and GEOG 245L (completed by the end of the fall semester of the senior year)
• Four additional GEOG elective credits, only one of which can be at the 100-level
• GEOG 401 - Senior Seminar

Additional Stipulations

• Courses taken off-campus cannot be used to substitute for GEOG 231, 245, or 401.
• Students may substitute upper-level courses for either or both of the 100-level courses required for the major.

GPA Requirement

To qualify with a major in geography, students must have achieved a minimum GPA of 2.00 over all courses taken in the department.
